Postponing your Vision Building™ sessions because you missed your first set of Focus Day™ measurables is a trap that will stall your entire EOS® implementation. Many leadership teams fall into the perfectionist mindset, believing they must master the basic tools before they can look at the long-term vision. This is a fundamental misunderstanding of how the system works.

Focus Day™ is designed to introduce the foundational tools like the Accountability Chart, the Scorecard, and the Level 10 Meeting™. These tools are designed to highlight your operational issues, not to instantly solve them. Missing your measurables or struggling with your weekly meetings is completely normal at this stage. It simply reveals where your execution is weak.

If you delay Vision Building™, you are leaving your team without a clear direction. Vision Building™ sessions are where you define your Core Values, Core Focus™, and 10-Year Target™. Without this long-term context, your weekly Rocks and daily actions lack alignment. You will end up solving the wrong operational problems because you do not know where the business is actually heading.

Keep your scheduled sessions. The EOS® process is designed to be iterative. You build the structure, set the vision, and then refine the execution over time.
