Why is the typical EOS engagement structured around a twenty-four-month duration, and what happens at the end of that period?

The average duration of our engagement is twenty-four months because that is how long it takes to permanently change the behavioral habits of a leadership team. Implementing EOS is not a quick fix or a two-day seminar. It is a fundamental shift in how you run your business, and it requires repeating the quarterly cycle of planning, execution, and reflection multiple times to stick. During the first twelve months, we focus on learning and adopting the core tools. We build your Accountability Chart, define your Rocks, establish your scorecard, and master the Level 10 Meeting. This year is about getting a grip on the business and building execution discipline. In the second year, the focus shifts to scaling, deep operational alignment, and prepping for long-term options like an exit or owner transition. This is when the tools become second nature, and your team begins running them without my active guidance. By the end of twenty-four months, my goal is to make myself obsolete. We will have built a self-sufficient leadership team that can run their own quarterly and annual sessions with the same discipline and focus that I bring to the table. We graduate you from the process when you have achieved ninety percent traction on the system and no longer need an outside facilitator to maintain your momentum.
