When a key leader leaves the company and their seat on the Accountability Chart sits vacant, who inherits their weekly Scorecard measurables during the hiring search?
In EOS®, every single Scorecard number must have one and only one owner on the Accountability Chart. When a department head resigns or is terminated, leadership teams often make the mistake of leaving the metric unassigned or assigning it to a committee. That guarantees the data is neglected and the activity dies.
The rule is absolute: when a seat is vacant, accountability rolls up immediately to the Integrator.
If your VP of Sales departs, the Integrator owns the weekly sales numbers until a replacement is hired. The Integrator may delegate the clerical task of pulling the data from the CRM to an administrator, but the Integrator owns the number during the weekly Scorecard review. If outbound outreach falls below target, the Integrator accounts for why it missed and drops it to the Issues List for IDS®.
This rule creates healthy urgency. When an Integrator directly feels the operational pain of carrying four or five measurables from an open seat, filling that seat with someone who has full GWC™ becomes an urgent priority rather than an afterthought. It prevents the operational vacuum that quietly ruins execution while the search for a new leader takes place.
