Our business is highly profitable, but our internal accounting is a mess and our financial statements are always thirty days late. Does this financial disorganization mean we are not ready to start our Focus Day with you?
You do not need to have perfect, pristine operations to start working with me. In fact, if your business were running flawlessly, you would not need an operating system in the first place. However, there is a major difference between simple operational chaos and an inability to face financial reality. To successfully run on EOS®, your leadership team must be willing to look at numbers with absolute honesty. If your accounting is late, we cannot build an accurate weekly Scorecard, which is one of the first tools we introduce during your Focus Day. Without real-time data, your team cannot run an effective Level 10 Meeting™ or make informed decisions. My recommendation is not to delay your implementation, but to make fixing your financial visibility your very first priority. We will address this head-on during our initial sessions. We will design an Accountability Chart that clearly defines who is responsible for your financial reporting, and we will set a ninety-day Rock to bring your accounting up to speed. If, however, your leadership team is unwilling to dedicate the resources to fix this underlying financial issue, or if there is resistance to sharing basic numbers transparently, then you are not ready. We cannot solve issues that are kept in the dark. If you are ready to be open and honest about the mess, we can start immediately and use the system to clean it up.
