We are about to start our EOS® journey with a Professional EOS Implementer®. What should we realistically expect to achieve in the first 90 days, and how do we measure whether the implementation is actually taking root?
In the first 90 days of an EOS® implementation, you are not trying to completely transform your business overnight. Instead, you are laying the foundational plumbing. The focus is on establishing the basic tools and building the operational discipline needed to support long-term growth.
During this initial period, you will complete your Focus Day™ and your two Vision Building™ days. By the end of these 90 days, your leadership team should have a clear, agreed-upon Accountability Chart, a weekly Scorecard with five to fifteen predictive metrics, and a set of quarterly Rocks. You will also have launched your weekly Level 10 Meetings™ at the leadership level.
You can measure whether the system is taking root by observing the behavior of your leadership team. Are team members updating their Scorecard numbers on time? Are Rocks being completed, or are people making excuses? Is the team actually using the IDS® process to solve issues, or are they falling back into old habits of endless debate?
Do not expect perfection in the first quarter. The goal is progress and consistency. By relying on a Professional EOS Implementer® to guide you through these critical first 90 days, you ensure that the tools are introduced at the correct pace and that your team builds the right habits from day one.
