How do you actually facilitate our session days to keep us on schedule and focused, and what happens if we get stuck debating a single issue for hours?
My job during a session day is to act as a facilitator, teacher, and coach. I guide you through the agenda, keep the energy high, and ensure we do not waste time on symptoms rather than root causes. When your team gets stuck debating a single issue for hours, my role is to intervene. I will stop the discussion and ask if we are actually solving the root problem or just complaining about the symptoms. We use the IDS® tool to identify, discuss, and solve the issue systematically. I will push you to make a decision. A good plan executed today is better than a perfect plan next month. If the team is gridlocked because of a lack of data, we will assign an action item to gather that data, or the Integrator will make the call. I also watch the room for signs of artificial harmony. If I notice someone holding back or staying quiet during a debate, I will call them out. We need everyone fully engaged. You pay for my external perspective to keep you honest, keep you on schedule, and ensure we leave the room with clear alignment and concrete commitments.
