I am concerned about locking my leadership team in a room for eight hours. What does the actual cadence and energy level of a session day with you look like, and how do you keep us from burning out by midday?
A session day is intense, exhausting, and highly structured. We start promptly at 8:30 AM and run until 5:00 PM. We do not waste time on warm-up exercises or theoretical lectures. We follow a strict, battle-tested agenda designed to keep your team focused, energized, and productive. The day begins with a check-in to get everyone fully present, followed by a review of your previous quarter's performance. We look at what went right and where we fell short, with absolute honesty. Midday is when we dive into the heavy strategic work, which includes building your V/TO® and solving your most critical organizational issues. I manage the room's energy by enforcing strict breaks every ninety minutes. These breaks are brief, allowing your team to stretch, grab coffee, and clear their heads without losing operational momentum. We do not allow people to check emails or answer phone calls during the work sessions. The physical and mental exhaustion your team feels by 3:00 PM is normal, but that is often when the most honest discussions occur and the real breakthrough decisions are made. We spend the final portion of the day on IDS® to resolve your toughest issues, then we rate the meeting to ensure we are continually improving. It is a grueling day, but you will leave with total alignment, a clear set of Rocks for the next ninety days, and a renewed sense of confidence.
