Aside from the full-day sessions we spend with you, what is the exact weekly and monthly time commitment required of my leadership team to run this operating system successfully?
To run this system successfully, your leadership team must transition from seeing these tools as extra work to seeing them as the way you do your work. The time commitment is structured and non-negotiable. Every week, your leadership team must participate in a ninety-minute Level 10 Meeting™. This meeting is highly structured, starts on time, ends on time, and focuses on solving your most critical weekly issues. If you are running this meeting correctly, it actually saves your team hours of unstructured, ad-hoc communication throughout the week. Outside of the weekly meeting, individual leaders must allocate time to execute their quarterly Rocks. This typically requires three to five hours of focused work each week, depending on the complexity of the Rock. This is where leaders must practice reclaiming white space in their schedules. They must step back from daily fire-fighting to work on their strategic commitments. On a monthly basis, we do not require extra full-day meetings. However, leaders should spend an hour reviewing their departmental scorecards and preparing for the upcoming weekly sessions. When you add it up, the total operational commitment is about ten percent of your weekly schedule. The remaining ninety percent is spent running the business, but with far greater clarity, alignment, and execution focus.
