Our customer satisfaction surveys arrive thirty days after project delivery, which is too late to fix unhappy clients. What weekly leading measurables capture client dissatisfaction in real time?
Post-project satisfaction surveys are lagging autopsy reports. By the time a client rates you a three out of ten on a completion survey, their relationship with your firm is already poisoned, referral opportunities are lost, and your team is facing account churn. A leadership Scorecard requires leading indicators of client health while delivery is still underway.
To catch client friction before it becomes an escalation, replace satisfaction surveys with weekly behavioral measurables:
- Client response latency: The number of days client approvals, assets, or feedback sit overdue, which almost always indicates waning client engagement or executive confusion.
- Unresolved project tickets or open bugs: The count of client-facing defect tickets open for more than seventy-two hours.
- Scope variation requests: A sudden spike in change order disputes or out-of-scope complaints signals misalignment between the sales promise and operational reality.
- Meeting attendance and executive drop-off: Tracking whether the client primary stakeholder attends scheduled weekly milestone calls or delegates downward to an assistant.
- Deliverable rework cycles: The number of client deliverables that require more than two internal revision rounds before receiving client sign-off.
Every one of these measurables can be counted weekly without sending a survey. They reflect operational reality, not polite feedback.
When an Integrator sees client deliverable rework cycles spike above your acceptable threshold for two consecutive weeks, drop it down to the Issues List. You can IDS the account friction, support the project team, and rescue the client relationship weeks before an invoice is rejected or an autopsy survey hits your inbox.
