How do we run our weekly and monthly review cycles to ensure our V/TO® actually guides operational prioritization rather than just being a document we look at once a quarter?

The V/TO® fails when it is treated as a static strategic plan. To make it a living tool, it must be integrated into your weekly and monthly cadences. Bring the V/TO® to every weekly Level 10 Meeting™. It should not sit in a digital folder. When a new opportunity or a major problem arises during the week, filter it through your Core Focus and 10-Year Target on the V/TO® first. If it does not align with your core target, the decision is already made. It does not go on the agenda.

Next, establish a monthly review where the leadership team reviews the 3-Year Picture™ and 1-Year Plan. This prevents the ninety-day drift where daily fire-fighting pulls you away from your longer-term vision. Use this monthly check-in to assess if your current operations are actually building the capabilities needed for your 3-Year Picture™.

Finally, make your V/TO® accessible to everyone in the organization. Share the state of the company every quarter using this document. When employees see that every strategic pivot or major investment is directly tied to the V/TO®, they will begin using it as a filter for their own daily work. It stops being a theoretical document and becomes the operational guardrails for the entire business.
