I am the Visionary, and while I have a great leadership team, my constant stream of new ideas and sudden changes of direction is paralyzing them. How do I stop overriding my own leadership team's alignment?

As a Visionary, your creativity and drive are your greatest assets, but they can also be your team's greatest liability. When you constantly throw new ideas at your leadership team, you create whiplash, distracting them from their quarterly Rocks and stalling execution. You must learn to filter your ideas through your Integrator. The Integrator is your essential counterweight. When you have a new idea, do not share it with the entire leadership team immediately. Instead, bring it to your regular same-page meeting with your Integrator. Let them act as the filter. They will help you assess whether the idea fits into your current V/TO® and strategic plan, or if it is a distraction that should be shelved for a future quarterly planning session. Additionally, respect the boundaries of the Accountability Chart. Once your leadership team has committed to their Rocks for the quarter, those goals are locked. Do not override their authority or assign new tasks that pull them away from their commitments. If an idea is truly game-changing, put it on the issues list for the next quarterly offsite, where the entire team can evaluate it objectively. By establishing these boundaries, you protect your team's focus and allow them to execute on the strategic plan without constant disruption.
