As a Visionary owner, I know I have a bad habit of bypassing our Accountability Chart and giving direct tasks to employees, which is disrupting our EOS® rollout. How do I stop myself from undermining our implementation?

This is a common challenge for Visionaries who are used to operating by instinct and direct command. When you bypass the Accountability Chart, you destroy the authority of your Integrator and confuse your employees. To break this habit, you must first recognize that your primary role is to feed the vision, not manage the execution.

Start by making a personal commitment to the Accountability Chart. Every time you have a new idea or want to assign a task, force yourself to go through your Integrator. The Integrator is the buffer. Their seat is designed to prioritize, filter, and execute your ideas in a structured way.

Next, give your leadership team permission to call you out. Create a specific rule in your Level 10 Meeting™ where team members can flag when you are stepping out of your seat.

If you bypass the chain of command, your team should feel empowered to politely ask you to run the idea through the Integrator first. Protecting the integrity of the system requires you to discipline your own behavior. By respecting the structure, you show your team that accountability applies to everyone, especially the owner.
