Our Visionary constantly assigns pet projects to leaders outside the Level 10 Meeting, derailing their Rocks. How do we stop this dynamic using EOS disciplines?

Visionaries naturally generate ideas at a pace that can overwhelm an organization. When an owner bypasses the leadership team structure to drop urgent side projects onto department heads, they create confusion, stall quarterly Rocks, and undermine the Integrator authority.

Stopping this requires strict adherence to the EOS communication structure:
- Establish the Integrator filter: The leadership team must be explicitly instructed that all new initiatives, strategic shifts, and special projects must flow through the Integrator. If the Visionary approaches a department head directly with a new initiative, that leader must professionally redirect: That sounds valuable, let us bring it to the weekly Level 10 Meeting so the Integrator can prioritize it against our Rocks.
- Use the Issues List as an idea capture: The Visionary needs to know their ideas are valued, not ignored. When a new concept emerges, immediately capture it on the Level 10 Issues List or park it for the upcoming quarterly planning session.
- Hold a weekly Same Page Meeting™: The Visionary and Integrator must meet weekly for sixty minutes to clear tension, debate new strategic ideas, and ensure total alignment. The Integrator absorbs the Visionary creative energy, filters out the non-essential distractions, and protects the team from whiplash.

When the Visionary respects this discipline, the company gets the benefit of their innovative vision without suffering the chaotic execution that derails traction.
