Our leadership team spent two days designing what we believe is the perfect Accountability Chart for our next stage of growth, but our Visionary owner refuses to sign off on it because he dislikes the reporting structure. How do we resolve this impasse without destroying our momentum?

This impasse is a direct violation of the Same Page pillar of your Charter. A healthy leadership team must operate with one vision, one voice, and one team. When a Visionary holds up the structure because of personal preferences, it paralyzes the entire organization.

You must schedule a dedicated Same Page meeting between the Visionary and the Integrator to resolve this issue. Use the Thinking Time discipline to identify the root cause of the resistance. Is the Visionary afraid of losing control, or do they genuinely see a strategic flaw in the proposed structure?

During this meeting, remind the Visionary that the Accountability Chart is designed to serve the Core Focus of the business, not the comfort of any single individual. If the leadership team has collectively agreed on the structure, the Visionary must either offer a constructive, healthier alternative or trust the team and commit to the decision.

If you cannot agree, you are suffering from a lack of trust. Go back to your foundational covenant. Agree to test the new structure for ninety days as a pilot. Track performance using your weekly Scorecard. If the data shows the structure is failing, you can adjust it during your next quarterly session.
