Our visionary has a massive personality and constantly overpowers our newly appointed Integrator during the IDS portion of our Level 10 Meeting, driving us into long-term strategic debates rather than solving weekly tactical issues. How do we help our Integrator take control of the room?
This is a classic organizational bottleneck. When a visionary dominates the Level 10 Meeting, they undermine the Integrator's authority and derail the weekly tactical pulse. The Integrator is the manager of the day-to-day operations and must be the undisputed facilitator of the Level 10 Meeting.
To fix this, the visionary and Integrator must first get on the Same Page. They must meet before the Level 10 Meeting in a Same Page Meeting to align on their roles. The visionary must consciously agree to step back and respect the Integrator's authority in the room. This is a covenant of Our Charter.
Second, the Integrator must practice courageous facilitation. When the visionary starts dragging the team into a strategic rabbit hole, the Integrator must use a physical or verbal cue to pause them. Say: This is a great strategic topic for our next quarterly planning session or our next Same Page Meeting. It does not belong on our weekly tactical Issues List. Let us move it to the V/TO issues list and get back to the issue at hand.
Third, the other leadership team members must support the Integrator. If the visionary resists, the team must hold them accountable to the rules of the meeting. The Integrator's seat is accountable for harmonizing the leadership team. If the visionary does not allow them to do their job, the business cannot scale, and you will never achieve a clean exit.
