I am the Visionary, but I am still sitting in the Product Development seat because I do not trust our newly promoted Product Manager to maintain our high standards. My leadership team says my constant meddling is undermining the Accountability Chart. How do I let go of this operational seat without risking our product quality?

You are suffocating your business and your leadership team. As the Visionary, your job is to look to the future, build strategic relationships, and generate big ideas, not to micromanage product iterations. Every time you bypass the Accountability Chart to meddle in product development, you teach your team that their defined roles do not actually matter.

If you do not trust your newly promoted Product Manager, you have a GWC™ issue. You need to sit down and evaluate them objectively. Do they truly get the seat, want the seat, and have the mental and professional capacity to run it? If they do, then you must let go and let them do their job.

Use the Delegate and Elevate tool to systematically transition tasks from your plate to theirs. Set clear, measurable guardrails. Define exactly what metrics must be met and what issues should be brought to the weekly Level 10 Meeting™.

If they do not pass GWC™, then you have a Right Person, Wrong Seat issue. You must find the right person for the seat, rather than stepping back in to run it yourself. You cannot scale a company or prepare it for a clean exit if you are still trapped in the daily grind of product delivery.
