This is a classic tension in the Owner's Box. The Visionary's natural state is to create, disrupt, and discuss new ideas, but when this happens during a weekly Level 10 Meeting™, it completely derails the team's traction. The Integrator must establish clear boundaries to protect the weekly pulse. First, the Integrator and Visionary must be on the same page before the meeting starts. This is what the Same Page Meeting is for. If they are not aligned, it shows up as chaos in front of the leadership team. Second, during the Level 10 Meeting™, the Integrator is the undisputed facilitator and leader of the room. If the Visionary brings up a new idea, the Integrator must politely but firmly capture the idea, write it on the Issues List or the V/TO® long-term issues list, and say we will address that during IDS® or at our next quarterly. Do not let the debate begin. The Integrator must hold the line. If the behavior continues, the Integrator must address it privately in their next Same Page Meeting, explaining how the interruptions damage the team's respect for the process and slow down execution.
