I am the Visionary and my partner is the Integrator, but because we started the company together, our leadership team still bypasses the Accountability Chart and asks both of us for direction, creating massive confusion. How do we establish a united front and force the team to respect our distinct seats?

When a leadership team bypasses the Integrator to get answers from the Visionary, it creates operational chaos and stalls execution. This behavior usually happens because the boundaries between the Visionary and Integrator seats have not been clearly communicated or enforced.

To resolve this, you and your partner must first align on your own roles. Review your Accountability Chart and ensure there is zero overlap between your responsibilities. The Visionary is responsible for big ideas, culture, and key relationships. The Integrator is responsible for running the daily business, executing the V/TO®, and managing the leadership team.

Once you are aligned, you must establish a strict united front. If a leadership team member approaches you, the Visionary, with an operational issue, you must refuse to make a decision. Direct them back to the Integrator immediately.

Use your Same-Page Meeting to stay completely aligned behind closed doors so the leadership team never sees any division between you. When the team realizes they cannot shop for answers or bypass the established chain of command, they will start respecting the Accountability Chart, and your operations will run much more smoothly.
