During our first year running on EOS, our Visionary and Integrator keep clashing over operational boundaries and confusing the team. How do we use the Same Page meeting to eliminate this friction?

When the Visionary and Integrator are out of alignment, the entire organization experiences operational whiplash. The leadership team starts receiving conflicting directives, priorities shift mid-quarter, and the Accountability Chart breaks down as leaders play one founder against the other.

The single mechanism that fixes this dysfunction is the discipline of the Same Page meeting. This is not a casual lunch or a quick hallway check-in. It is a recurring, protected, two to four hour meeting between only the Visionary and the Integrator, held off-site at least monthly, and often bi-weekly during year one.

The agenda is pure IDS. Both leaders walk into the room with an open list of frustrations, relationship misalignments, and strategic debates. The golden rule is absolute honesty: nothing leaves the room unresolved. You talk through philosophical differences on hiring, disagreements over company culture, cash flow anxieties, and Accountability Chart boundaries.

Crucially, you never debate or contradict each other in front of the leadership team or the company. If the Visionary has an operational concern about an Integrator decision, it goes on the Same Page meeting Issues List, not into an open Slack channel. If the Integrator feels the Visionary is violating their seat by assigning pet projects directly to staff, they confront it behind closed doors.

When the Visionary and Integrator step out of that room, they present a unified front. The company needs to see one locked-in vision and one synchronized leadership dynamic. Without that discipline, no operating system will stick.
