I am the Integrator and my Visionary co-founder constantly bypasses me to give direction directly to our department heads. This is undermining my authority and messing up our Accountability Chart structure. How do we stop this line-crossing behavior?

This is one of the most common friction points on any leadership team. When a Visionary bypasses the Integrator, they destroy the integrity of the Accountability Chart and create massive confusion for the rest of the team. The department heads do not know who to listen to, and accountability completely evaporates.

To fix this, you must first clarify the rules of engagement during a Same-Page Meeting. The Visionary and Integrator must be totally aligned. The rule is simple: the Visionary has no direct reports other than the Integrator. Every idea, strategic pivot, or command from the Visionary must flow through the Integrator.

If the Visionary has an idea, they must bring it to the Integrator, not to the VP of Sales or the VP of Operations. The Integrator is the filter. If the Visionary goes direct, the department head has the obligation to say, I love this idea, but have you run this by our Integrator yet? This protects the structure.

In your next Level 10 Meeting, IDS this issue as a team. Commit to the rule that only the Integrator manages the day-to-day operations. This is not about restricting the Visionary's genius; it is about protecting the operational flow so the company can scale and prepare for a clean, valuable exit.
