My Integrator and I have completely opposite Kolbe profiles, which is causing friction in our Same Page Meetings because they need deep data and I want to move fast on instinct. How do we use our conative scores to make our alignment meetings productive?
A high-friction relationship between a Visionary and an Integrator is rarely a personality conflict. It is almost always a conative mismatch. If you are a high Quickstart who operates on instinct, and your Integrator is a high Fact Finder who needs data and process, your Same Page Meetings can easily feel like a constant battle of wills.
To resolve this, you must stop trying to change each other and start leveraging your differing Kolbe profiles.
First, establish a rule for how you share new ideas. As a Visionary, you likely have ten new ideas a day. To a high Fact Finder Integrator, this feels like an overwhelming list of new projects they need to analyze. Implement a filter. Do not expect your Integrator to run with every idea. Instead, bring your top two ideas to your weekly Same Page Meeting and give your Integrator time to research them before demanding a decision.
Second, respect the boundaries of the Integrator's seat. Once you agree on the quarterly Rocks and the V/TO®, get out of the way. Let your Integrator use their natural Follow Thru and Fact Finder instincts to build the systems and manage the execution.
When you understand that your Integrator's need for details is not a personal attack on your vision, but rather their natural way of protecting the business from chaos, the friction disappears. You need their structure to make your vision a reality.
