My Integrator and I have reached an impasse where we fundamentally disagree on our company strategy, and the tension is spilling into leadership meetings. How do we resolve this Visionary and Integrator friction before it fractures the team?

The Accountability Chart requires absolute alignment between the Visionary and Integrator seats. If there is daylight between the two of you, the leadership team gets whiplash and execution grinds to a halt. The cardinal rule is that philosophical friction must be resolved behind closed doors, never during your weekly Level 10 Meeting.

Schedule an immediate Same Page meeting. Take your Vision/Traction Organizer (V/TO) into the room and ground the debate in your documented core targets. Identify the root cause of the friction using IDS (Identify, Discuss, and Solve). Is the disagreement over the Core Focus, the 10-Year Target, or the immediate quarterly Rocks?

If the debate centers on the company destination, that is ultimately the Visionary call. If the dispute is about how to execute, allocate resources, or sequence projects to reach an agreed destination, the Integrator owns that operational call on the Accountability Chart. Both seats must respect those boundaries. If you spend two sessions in IDS and remain at an impasse, bring in your Professional EOS Implementer to facilitate an objective breakthrough. Chronic misalignment usually means one seat has stopped believing in the V/TO, which turns a temporary friction issue into a Right Person, Right Seat evaluation.
