My Integrator and I are constantly clashing over the direction of the company. I want to chase major new market opportunities, but they keep telling me we do not have the capacity and need to focus on our current Rocks. How do we resolve this strategic friction before it divides our entire leadership team?

This is classic Visionary and Integrator friction, and it is healthy if managed correctly. Your job as the Visionary is to look to the future, generate ideas, and push for growth. Your Integrator's job is to execute, drive focus, and protect the organization's capacity. When you clash, it usually means you do not have a clear forum or process to filter your ideas. First, you must respect the boundaries of the Accountability Chart. You do not get to bypass the Integrator and force the team to work on your latest brainstorm. Second, implement a Same Page Meeting. This is a monthly meeting just for the two of you, designed to get on the same page, clear the air, and IDS® issues privately. During this meeting, present your ideas and let the Integrator evaluate them against your current capacity and V/TO®. If an idea is great but the timing is wrong, store it in your Idea Folder or on the long-term Issues List. Once you agree on the plan in private, you must present a united front to the leadership team. If you continue to fight in front of your directors, you will create factionalism and stall execution.
