My Integrator and I are constantly locking horns over operational details, and our leadership team is getting whiplash because we disagree during Level 10 Meetings. How do we resolve this constant friction between the Visionary and Integrator without destroying our daily execution?

Friction between a Visionary and an Integrator is natural, but when it spills over into leadership team meetings, it paralyzes the entire company. Your leadership team needs to see a united front. If they witness their two top leaders constantly arguing, they will lose confidence, execution will stall, and department heads will start taking sides. To fix this, you must establish a strict discipline around your communication. The primary tool for resolving this friction is the Same Page meeting. You and your Integrator must meet weekly, or at minimum bi-weekly, for two to four hours outside of the standard Level 10 Meeting™ to align your thinking. During the Same Page meeting, you must raise all your disagreements, debate them passionately, and use IDS® to solve them privately. You must agree that once you walk out of that room, you speak with one voice. If you cannot reach an agreement on an issue, the Integrator has the final say on all operational matters, while the Visionary has the final veto on strategic direction and core values. Never debate each other or show misalignment in front of your team. If an issue arises during a leadership meeting where you are not on the same page, table it immediately and move it to your next private Same Page meeting. Protecting this relationship is vital for building a healthy, scalable organization.
