I am the Visionary, and my Integrator is constantly pushing back on my new technology ideas because they are not on our current quarterly V/TO. How do we resolve this friction without killing our company innovation?

The friction between a Visionary and an Integrator is natural and healthy, but only if it is managed correctly. If your Integrator is rejecting your new technology ideas, they are actually doing their job, which is to protect the organization from shiny object syndrome and keep the team focused on executing the agreed-upon quarterly Rocks.

To resolve this friction without stifling innovation, you must use the relationship rules defined by EOS®. As the Visionary, you are the spark plug, but your Integrator is the engine. You cannot bypass the Integrator and go straight to the department heads to implement your new ideas, as this completely destroys the accountability of your Integrator seat.

Instead, create an official Idea Folder. Whenever you get a flash of genius regarding a new AI tool or operational shift, document it in the folder rather than bringing it to the weekly Level 10 Meeting™. Then, hold a regular Same Page Meeting with your Integrator. During this private meeting, you can review the Idea Folder together.

In the Same Page Meeting, you and the Integrator will IDS® (Identify, Discuss, and Solve) these ideas. If an idea is truly game-changing, the Integrator will help you map out how and when to introduce it, potentially as a Rock for the next quarter. This process respects the Integrator's seat on the Accountability Chart while ensuring your vision is captured and executed strategically, rather than disruptively.
