I am the Visionary, and my Integrator accuses me of undermining their authority because I frequently give direct assignments to our developers and marketing team when I have a breakthrough idea. How do we stop this cycle without killing my creativity?
When you bypass your Integrator, you create organizational whiplash. Your team gets confused about priorities, your Integrator loses credibility, and the Accountability Chart becomes a useless piece of paper. This is a classic conative clash. As a Visionary, your Kolbe profile likely shows a high Quick Start, meaning you naturally act on instinct and thrive on rapid change. Your Integrator likely has a high Follow Thru, needing order and systems to keep the business profitable.
To fix this, you must commit to a recurring, private Same Page Meeting with your Integrator. Every breakthrough idea you have must be filtered through this meeting first. You do not share ideas with the wider team until your Integrator has vetted them for operational feasibility and capacity.
If an idea survives the Same Page Meeting, the Integrator owns the execution. They will decide how to cascade the project to the developers and marketing team based on current Rocks and capacity. If you cannot respect this boundary, you are the bottleneck. You must choose between having direct control over individual tasks or building a scalable business that you can eventually exit. Protect your creativity by keeping a running list of ideas for your next Same Page Meeting instead of throwing them directly at your staff.
