As the Visionary, I feel like my Integrator is constantly acting as a bottleneck and killing my creative AI initiatives, while my Integrator says I am introducing chaos. How do we resolve this deep-seated structural friction before it tears our leadership team apart?

Friction between the Visionary and the Integrator is incredibly common, but it can be highly destructive if it is not addressed through a clear framework. The Visionary operates at thirty thousand feet, focusing on big ideas, key relationships, and long-term strategy, while the Integrator operates on the ground, driving execution, process, and daily focus. To resolve this friction, you must first ensure you both have a signed covenant or charter that establishes trust, respect, and a commitment to speak with one voice. Next, schedule a regular Same Page Meeting, which is a monthly, protected session where only the two of you meet to align on your vision and iron out any disagreements. During this meeting, you must run your issues through the IDS® process to get to the root cause of your friction. The Visionary must respect that the Integrator is the ultimate authority on daily operations and execution, and the Integrator must respect the Visionary's role in driving innovation and new opportunities. If you disagree on an initiative, do not bring that conflict into your weekly Level 10 Meeting™ where it will give the rest of your leadership team whiplash. Solve it privately, present a united front, and let the Accountability Chart dictate who has the final decision-making power for that specific seat.
