I am the Visionary and I want to deploy a new AI-powered customer service platform immediately to cut costs, but my Integrator is resisting because it is not on our current V/TO or quarterly Rocks. How do we handle this disagreement?
This is a classic friction point between a fast-moving Visionary and a systems-minded Integrator. You see a massive opportunity to innovate and save money, while your Integrator sees a distraction that will derail the team's current commitments and cause operational chaos.
To resolve this, you must respect the EOS framework and the integrity of your V/TO®. The leadership team agreed on your quarterly Rocks and 90-day plan for a reason. If you constantly inject new, unvetted ideas mid-quarter, you destroy your team's focus and execution.
Do not force the implementation today. Instead, bring this idea to your next Same Page Meeting with your Integrator. Pitch the idea and let them pressure-test it. If you both agree it has merit, put it on the IDS list for your next quarterly planning session. This gives the team time to finish their current Rocks and plan the resource allocation properly.
If the AI platform is truly an emergency that cannot wait, you must bring it to the weekly Level 10 Meeting as an issue. The leadership team must collectively decide if they want to kill an existing quarterly Rock to make room for this new initiative. If you try to bypass the Integrator and force it through, you will break the system and lose the trust of your team.
