If my Integrator and I have a major disagreement during a quarterly session, how do you facilitate that conflict without taking sides or undermining either of our roles?
Friction between a Visionary and an Integrator is incredibly common, and when it is constructive, it is actually healthy for the business. My job as your facilitator is not to play referee or decide who is right. My job is to hold up a mirror to the organization and use our tools to find the objective truth.
When a disagreement arises, we take it straight to the Issues List and use the IDS® process. We define the issue clearly, identify the root cause, and discuss it openly. I will push both of you to look at the disagreement through the lens of your V/TO® and your Accountability Chart, rather than your personal egos or emotions.
I remain completely neutral, but I will not allow you to avoid the uncomfortable conversations. We enter the danger together to resolve the underlying misalignment. Usually, these disagreements happen because roles are poorly defined or because someone is operating outside of their GWC™ seat. By anchoring our discussion in the physical tools of the system, we find a resolution that serves the greater good of the business, preserving your partnership and keeping the team aligned.
