During our initial EOS® rollout, the Visionary keeps bypassing the Integrator to hand out new tasks to department heads, creating mass confusion. How do we establish clear boundaries between these two seats when the habits are deeply ingrained?

When a Visionary bypasses the Integrator to direct staff members, it creates operational chaos, dilutes accountability, and frustrates the entire team. This behavior is usually a habit developed over years of the Visionary running the day to day business, but it must be corrected immediately to allow the Integrator seat to function.

To resolve this friction, the Visionary and Integrator must establish clear boundaries. First, the leadership team must respect the lines of communication on the Accountability Chart™. The Visionary must agree that all operational direction, priority changes, and new ideas must flow through the Integrator, not directly to the department heads.

If the Visionary has a new idea or a sudden task, they must bring it to the weekly Same Page Meeting™ with the Integrator. During this meeting, the Integrator will filter the idea, decide if it aligns with the current quarterly plan, and determine how and when to roll it out to the team. This process protects the staff from distractions while ensuring the Visionary's creative energy is harnessed productively.

When the Visionary inevitably slips and goes directly to a team member, the team member must be trained to politely redirect them back to the Integrator. This is not disrespectful; it is upholding the operating system. Over time, this discipline builds trust and allows both seats to operate at maximum efficiency.
