I am the Visionary and I feel like I am constantly micromanaging my Integrator to ensure they are driving traction. How do we use our EOS® tools to clarify boundaries so I can step back without operations falling apart?

The friction between a Visionary and an Integrator usually happens because their roles on the Accountability Chart are not clearly defined. When a Visionary micromanages, it paralyzes the Integrator and stalls the company's growth.

To resolve this, you must run regular Same Page Meetings. This is a monthly, offline meeting where you and your Integrator can discuss your relationship, align your expectations, and resolve issues before they affect the leadership team. Use this time to clearly define your boundaries.

The Visionary seat is responsible for big ideas, culture, and key relationships. The Integrator seat is responsible for running the day-to-day business and executing the vision. Once you agree on these definitions, you must let the Integrator do their job.

If you find yourself wanting to step in, use the weekly Level 10 Meeting™ as your touchpoint instead of micromanaging daily. Review the Scorecard and Rock progress. If the Integrator is hitting their numbers, trust the system. If they are falling short, use IDS® to solve the problem constructively. True entrepreneurial freedom requires you to step back and trust the Accountability Chart you created.
