My Integrator and I as the Visionary are aligned in our private meetings, but our subtle disagreements on strategic direction are bleeding into our weekly Level 10 Meeting™ and confusing the rest of the leadership team. How do we keep a unified front?
The relationship between the Visionary and the Integrator is the engine that drives your entire organization. When there is friction or a lack of alignment between the two of you, it creates a toxic wave of uncertainty that paralyzes the leadership team.
Your team members are highly sensitive to status management cues. If they sense even a subtle disagreement or power struggle during your weekly Level 10 Meeting™, they will hesitate to make decisions, form alliances, and retreat into their departmental silos.
To prevent this, you must implement a strict Same Page Meeting routine. You and your Integrator must meet weekly, completely separate from the leadership team, to debate, align, and resolve any strategic differences. This is your safe space to fight, disagree, and hash out ideas.
Under no circumstances should you disagree on strategic direction in front of the leadership team. When you enter the weekly Level 10 Meeting™ or quarterly offsites, you must present a completely unified front. If an unexpected disagreement arises during a session, pause the discussion and take it offline to your next Same Page Meeting.
By maintaining this boundary, you build a stable foundation of safety for the rest of your leaders. They can focus on executing the V/TO® and hitting their Rocks without worrying about navigating a political civil war at the top.
