Our Visionary is convinced that AI makes our current ten-year target completely obsolete and wants to pivot our entire market strategy, but our Integrator needs to focus on hitting this quarter's Rocks. How do we align them?

It is classic for a Visionary to see the massive strategic potential of AI and want to pivot the entire company tomorrow. It is equally classic for the Integrator to resist because they are focused on execution and maintaining operational stability.

This friction is healthy, but only if you manage it through the proper EOS channels. The Visionary's ideas must not bypass the Integrator to go straight to the team. This creates chaos and destroys focus.

With that in mind, the Visionary must bring these strategic ideas to their Same Page meeting with the Integrator. This is where you hash out the big ideas. The Integrator's job is to protect the current business and ensure the team hits this quarter's Rocks. The Visionary's job is to look down the road.

To resolve this alignment issue, use the V/TO. If the Visionary wants to pivot the strategy, that discussion belongs in your annual planning session, not in the middle of a quarter. If the opportunity is truly urgent, use the IDS process during your weekly leadership team meeting to debate the trade-offs. Agree on a controlled pilot rather than a company-wide pivot. This allows you to test the Visionary's thesis without throwing your entire operational engine into chaos. Keep the team focused on execution while you validate the new strategy.
