Our Visionary wants to use predictive AI to expand into three new target markets next year, but our operational data shows our core business is still struggling with service delivery. How do we use the Issues Solving Track to get on the same page and prevent strategic overreach?

Visionaries are naturally attracted to shiny new technologies and expansion opportunities. Predictive AI makes new markets look incredibly easy to conquer on paper, but your Integrator must keep the business grounded in operational reality.

To resolve this tension, bring this issue to your next weekly Level 10 Meeting™ and use the IDS™ track. Start by identifying the real issue. The problem is not the predictive AI or the new markets. The problem is that your core business has unstable operations, and expanding now will dilute your focus and destroy your margins.

Put the operational data on the table. Show your weekly Scorecard metrics. If your customer satisfaction or delivery times are lagging, that is your primary focus. Use the V/TO to remind the team of your Core Focus. Expanding into three new markets simultaneously violates the discipline of focus and will overwhelm your team.

Work through the discussion phase of IDS without emotion. Agree that while the predictive AI insights are valuable, they must be tabled as future opportunities. Solve the issue by creating a clear boundary: the operations team must hit their delivery metrics for two consecutive quarters before any expansion plans are approved. This keeps the Visionary excited about the future while giving the Integrator the authority to stabilize the core business today.
