How should the Visionary and Integrator divide the labor when it comes to scoping, buying, and deploying AI tools across the organization without violating their Same Page relationship?
The relationship between the Visionary and the Integrator is the foundation of any successful EOS® company. When introducing disruptive technology like AI, it is easy for this relationship to experience friction if you do not establish clear boundaries. You must divide the labor based on your unique seats on the Accountability Chart.
The Visionary should focus on the big picture. Their role is to look ahead and identify where AI can open new revenue streams, improve competitive advantage, or transform client delivery. They should bring these ideas to the weekly Same Page Meeting to discuss with the Integrator. The Visionary must avoid the temptation to bypass the Integrator and instruct the team to buy new software tools on a whim.
The Integrator owns the execution. Once an AI initiative is agreed upon and aligned with your V/TO®, the Integrator is responsible for scoping, buying, and deploying the technology. They must ensure the new tools integrate cleanly with your existing systems, fit within the budget, and are adopted by the team.
By maintaining this division of labor, you prevent operational chaos. The Visionary feeds the pipeline with strategic opportunities, while the Integrator ensures that only secure, high-value, and fully vetted systems are rolled out to the organization.
