As the Visionary, I keep dropping raw ideas and future opportunities onto our weekly Level 10 Meeting™ issues list, which frustrates my Integrator because it distracts from the immediate operational fires. Where do my future-focused ideas go if they do not belong on the active issues list?

As a Visionary, your mind naturally generates new ideas and growth opportunities constantly. However, dumping these thoughts onto the active weekly issues list of your Level 10 Meeting will derail your leadership team's tactical focus.

Your weekly meeting is designed to maintain traction and solve immediate operational challenges. It is not a brainstorming forum for long-term strategy.

To protect your team's focus while preserving your creative ideas, you must use your Vision/Traction Organizer, or V/TO. Specifically, you should place your future-focused ideas on the long term issues list, which is found on section two of your V/TO.

This list is reserved for opportunities, ideas, and challenges that do not need to be solved during the current quarter. By placing them there, you ensure they are captured and will not be forgotten.

Your leadership team will review this long term list during your next quarterly planning session. At that time, you can collectively decide if any of these ideas should become company Rocks for the following ninety days.

This system keeps your weekly Level 10 Meeting focused entirely on current execution. It allows you to be creative without distracting your Integrator and the rest of the team from their weekly commitments.
