As the Visionary, I am constantly uncovering new growth opportunities and adjustment strategies for our eventual exit, but my leadership team is experiencing change fatigue and claims I am constantly moving the goalposts. How do I protect our operational traction while keeping us agile?
As a Visionary, your mind naturally operates ten steps ahead, constantly generating new strategies and ideas. However, when you dump every new idea directly onto your leadership team, you create chaos, destroy traction, and cause severe change fatigue. You must learn to filter your ideas before they disrupt operations.
The solution lies in the relationship between the Visionary and the Integrator. Your Integrator is the operational buffer. You must agree that all of your new ideas must go through the Integrator first, completely outside of the weekly Level 10 Meeting™.
Establish a regular Same Page meeting with your Integrator. Present your new ideas, software tools, or strategic pivots there. Together, evaluate if these ideas fit your V/TO® and your current 1-Year Plan. If they do not, they must go onto the V/TO® long-term issues list to be discussed during your next quarterly offsite.
By protecting your team from your daily brainwaves, you allow them to focus on executing their current Rocks. Agile does not mean chaotic. Real agility is built on a stable operating system where strategic adjustments are made during structured quarterly cycles, not on a Tuesday afternoon whim.
