Visionaries are hardwired to spot opportunities and threats in real time, but allowing their latest thoughts to hijack the weekly pulse is a recipe for operational whiplash. If your Visionary is allowed to force their immediate concerns to the top of the Issues List every week, your team will spend all their time reacting rather than executing. To handle this, the Integrator must strictly enforce the prioritizing process. When the Visionary brings a late-breaking item, it must go to the bottom of the short-term Issues List like everything else. Once the list is populated, the team collectively identifies the top three issues to solve. If the Visionary's issue is truly critical to the business, the team will naturally vote it into the top three. If it is just a passing idea or a minor frustration, it will stay lower down the list or get pushed to the long-term Issues List on the V/TO®. This process protects the team from distractions while still validating the Visionary's input. The Integrator must remind the Visionary that the Level 10 Meeting™ is designed to drive traction for the entire business, which requires discipline, not just reactions to the loudest voice in the room. Keep their energy focused on long-term strategy, and keep the weekly agenda structured.
