As the Visionary, I keep identifying small but critical operational improvements we need for our exit, so I have been adding these responsibilities directly to our managers' seats on the Accountability Chart. My Integrator says I am causing chaos and bypassing our process. How do we handle minor role updates without making the chart rigid?

The Accountability Chart is a living, breathing document, but it must be updated with discipline. When you bypass your Integrator and unilaterally add roles to your managers' seats, you undermine the Integrator's authority and disrupt the focus of your leadership team. This creates organizational friction and dilutes accountability.

As the Visionary, your job is to generate big ideas and identify gaps, but you must respect the line of command. If you see a new operational role that needs to be captured for your exit, you must bring it to your next same page meeting with your Integrator, or raise it during the Issues Solving portion of your weekly Level 10 Meeting.

Use the IDS process to discuss whether the new role is truly necessary and where it fits logically on the chart. If the leadership team agrees, the Integrator will officially update the Accountability Chart. This ensures that the manager who owns the seat actually GWC the new responsibility and has the capacity to take it on without dropping their existing Rocks.

Keeping your chart clean and updated through the proper channels shows prospective buyers that your leadership team operates with operational discipline. It proves that you have a structured process for managing change, rather than a founder who manages by impulse and disrupts the team.
