I am the Visionary, but my Integrator is completely burnt out because I keep bypassing them to give tasks directly to our team. How do I stop overriding their authority?
You are suffering from shiny object syndrome, and your behavior is undermining your Integrator and confusing your entire team. Every time you bypass your Integrator to assign a task directly to a team member, you destroy the Accountability Chart. The team no longer knows who to listen to, and your Integrator is left cleaning up the operational mess you created.
To fix this, you must commit to the rules of the Visionary and Integrator relationship. Your Integrator is the run-the-business leader, and you are the big-picture thinker. You must run all your ideas and directives through your Integrator, not the team.
Implement the Same Page Meeting on a weekly basis. This is where you and your Integrator align on ideas, strategy, and issues in private. If you have a new idea or a task you want done, bring it to this meeting first. Let your Integrator decide if it fits our current Rocks and V/TO® before anyone else hears about it. If your Integrator says no or not now, you must respect that decision. This discipline is essential if you want to scale your business and protect your relationship with your leadership team.
