As the Visionary, I have a high Quickstart score and constantly see new opportunities, but my Integrator accuses me of breaking our Accountability Chart by bypassing him and giving tasks directly to our department managers. How do we build a healthy communication boundary so my ideas get captured without undermining the structural chain of command?
As a Visionary with a high Quickstart score on the Kolbe Index, your instinct is to move fast and implement new ideas immediately. However, when you bypass your Integrator and give tasks directly to department managers, you disrupt the Accountability Chart and create chaos. Your team members will prioritize your requests because you are the owner, which pulls them away from their agreed Rocks and daily responsibilities. This stalls execution and frustrates your Integrator, who is responsible for keeping the team focused and accountable. To solve this, you must commit to the filter first rule. Every new idea or opportunity you generate must go through your Integrator before it reaches the rest of the team. Schedule a weekly same page meeting with your Integrator. Use this time to share your new ideas, brainstorm, and debate their viability. If an idea fits your V/TO and the Integrator agrees it is worth pursuing, the Integrator will determine how to resource it and assign it to the correct seat on the Accountability Chart. This keeps your creative energy flowing without breaking the structure.
