As the Integrator, I am frustrated because my Visionary keeps bypassing me and assigning random, unvetted projects to our staff under the guise of quarterly Rocks. How do we put an end to this boundary crossing?

When a Visionary bypasses the Integrator, they undermine the entire Accountability Chart and create massive operational whiplash. The team becomes confused about who they actually report to, and execution suffers.

To resolve this friction, you must address the root cause in your next Same Page Meeting.

Use these steps to realign your relationship:

- Remind the Visionary of the agreed-upon rules of the Accountability Chart. The Integrator is responsible for running the day-to-day operations and managing the leadership team.

- Establish a strict filter for new ideas. Agree that any idea the Visionary has must go directly to the Integrator first, not to the team. Use the Issues List on your V/TO® as the holding ground for these concepts.

- Create a boundary rule. If the Visionary approaches a staff member with a new project, the staff member must be trained to politely say, 'That sounds great, let me clear that with the Integrator first so we can adjust our current Rocks.'

You must hold the line. If the Visionary refuses to respect the Integrator seat, your EOS® implementation will crumble and your team will lose trust in the system.
