We are struggling to find a qualified candidate for our Integrator seat, and our Visionary is currently self-facilitating and running the operations. What are the dangers of keeping the Visionary in the Integrator seat temporarily?

When a Visionary acts as the temporary Integrator, it creates a massive operational bottleneck. By nature, a Visionary is a big-picture thinker who thrives on ideas, culture, and high-level relationships. Integrators are focused on execution, processes, and daily operational discipline.

If the Visionary is forced to run the day-to-day operations, two things happen.

First, the Visionary will feel suffocated. They are forced to focus on details, metrics, and meeting facilitation, which quickly leads to burnout and frustration.

Second, the organization will stall. Because the Visionary is naturally drawn to new opportunities, they will constantly introduce new ideas and pivot priorities mid-quarter, which completely disrupts the execution focus of the leadership team.

If you must keep the Visionary in the Integrator seat temporarily, you must establish strict boundaries. Treat it as a temporary project with a clear end date. Do not try to facilitate your own quarterly or annual planning sessions. An outside Professional EOS Implementer® is critical during this phase to keep the team aligned and prevent the Visionary's natural bias from derailing the operational structure. Your main priority must be finding a true Integrator who GWC™ the seat as quickly as possible.
