We have a leadership team member who is struggling in their seat and consistently misses their weekly Scorecard targets. How do we use our weekly data to objectively determine if they truly GWC their seat on our Accountability Chart?

When a leadership team member consistently misses their weekly Scorecard targets, it is easy to default to emotional discussions about their effort or attitude. This is where the EOS toolset keeps you objective. You must use the data to evaluate if they truly get, want, and have the capacity to do the job. This is the GWC check.

First, assess if they Get It. Do they understand the systemic connection between their weekly activities and the success of the business. If they do, they should easily see why their red metrics are harming the organization.

Second, assess if they Want It. Do they take genuine ownership of their numbers, or do they offer excuses and try to blame external factors during the Level 10 Meeting. A person who wants the seat feels a deep personal accountability for bringing their numbers to green.

Third, assess if they have the Capacity to do it. This is where the weekly Scorecard is most revealing. If they get the role and want the role, but their weekly activity metrics are consistently red for eight to twelve weeks, they likely lack the mental, physical, or emotional capacity to perform in that specific seat. The weekly numbers do not lie. Use this hard data to make objective decisions about your seat assignments on the Accountability Chart.
