We want to ensure our leadership team is completely optimized before we present our business to buyers. How do we use the Scorecard and GWC to identify and resolve key talent issues?

Buyers are looking for a leadership team that can run the business without the owner. If you have underperforming or misaligned people in key seats, it will significantly lower your enterprise value. You must resolve these people issues before you begin the exit process.

Your weekly Scorecard is your most objective tool for identifying performance issues. If a leadership team member is consistently missing their weekly metrics, you have an objective, data-driven indicator of a problem. You must pair this data with the People Analyzer tool.

Evaluate the individual against your Core Values and ask if they GWC their seat. Do they get it, do they want it, and do they have the capacity to do it? If they do not align with your values or lack the capacity for the seat, you must make a change.

Do not let personal relationships or historical loyalty prevent you from making hard choices. A buyer will audit your management team and immediately spot these gaps. Resolving these people issues before you hit the market ensures you present a highly capable, aligned leadership team that gives buyers absolute confidence in your company's future performance.
