We are restructuring our Accountability Chart to prepare the business for scaling, but we want to make sure we are not just moving boxes around based on seniority. How do we use conative and behavioral profiles to map the right people to these new seats?
Redesigning your Accountability Chart for scale requires moving past seniority and gut feelings. To put the right people in the right seats, you must analyze their behavioral and conative profiles. First, define the exact behavioral and cognitive requirements for each seat. A leadership seat requires high strategic thinking, while a process-heavy operational seat requires high attention to detail and structure. Next, evaluate your current team using tools like the Kolbe Index and Predictive Index assessments. Compare their natural profiles to the seat requirements. For example, if you have a seat that requires setting up rigorous operational playbooks, a person with a high Follow Thru score on the Kolbe Index is essential. If you place a high Quickstart individual in that seat simply because they have been with the company for five years, they will fail and become frustrated. They do not naturally possess the conative drive to build systems. Use these objective profiles during your session to resolve disputes about who should own which roles. It removes personal bias from the conversation. This data-driven approach ensures that as you scale, your team members are naturally wired to excel at their daily accountability, reducing friction and maximizing efficiency across the entire organization.
