We are deploying generative AI tools across our customer service and sales teams, but we have a critical AI Data Governance seat on our Accountability Chart that requires monitoring algorithmic bias and data leaks, and none of our leaders want to touch it. How do we assign this accountability without causing resentment?

When a critical seat is left empty because everyone is dodging it, you have a structural vulnerability that will tank your business valuation. You cannot force a leader who lacks the conative drive to own it. Use conative screening, specifically the Kolbe Index, to look at your existing leadership team's profiles. This seat requires a high Fact-Finder and Follow-Thru profile to handle the systematic auditing of AI outputs. Look at your team's scores. Whoever has the highest combination of these two traits is naturally wired for this work, even if they claim they do not want it out of fear of the unknown. Address their fear by defining the roles with absolute clarity. The AI Data Governance seat does not mean they do the manual coding. It means they own the accountability for the outcomes. If your entire leadership team consists of high Quick Starts who naturally resist systematic compliance, do not force it. In that case, you must hire a fractional expert or outsource the function to a specialized vendor, representing them on your Accountability Chart as an external resource reporting directly to your Integrator.
