Our weekly Level 10 Meeting consistently drags during the Scorecard and Rock reviews because team members have not updated their numbers or status before the meeting starts, forcing us to wait while they find the data. How do we eliminate this preparation lag?
Arriving at a Level 10 Meeting unprepared is a direct violation of team trust and operational discipline. The review sections of the meeting are designed to be a rapid-fire, high-energy check-in, not a data-entry session.
First, establish a hard deadline for updating all data. All Scorecard metrics, Rock statuses, and To-Do updates must be completed in your meeting software at least one hour before the meeting begins. This is a non-negotiable expectation for every leadership team member.
Second, if a leader fails to update their numbers on time, do not wait for them. The facilitator must mark the metric red or the Rock off-track immediately. This creates instant visibility and natural consequences. The leader must then explain why their metrics are missing, which automatically drops the issue to the short-term Issues List for IDS.
Third, hold them accountable to your core values. If this behavior is chronic, it is a GWC issue. A leader who cannot manage their weekly reporting is not in control of their seat. Address this privately in a one-on-one meeting to restore execution discipline.
