Our leadership team is split on our AI adoption strategy, with some pushing for aggressive automated systems and others wanting to protect our legacy processes. How do we build a unified leadership front so our employees do not receive mixed signals?
Cracks at the leadership level appear as canyons to the rest of the organization. If your leadership team is sending mixed signals about AI adoption, your staff will capitalize on that division, and your transition to AI-powered operations will stall completely.
To build a unified front, you must resolve this split during a focused leadership session. Use the V/TO to align everyone on the long-term vision of the company, specifically how AI-powered operations tie directly to your exit readiness and valuation. Make it clear that transitioning to automated workflows is not optional; it is a strategic necessity to build an exit-ready superstructure.
Run the debate through the IDS process. Let both sides air their concerns, technical limitations, and fears. Once every leader has been heard and a decision is made, you must demand complete alignment. In the EOS system, we agree to disagree, but once a decision is finalized, everyone must support it one hundred percent outside the room. There is no room for passive resistance or side agreements. If a leader cannot align with the AI strategy after the decision is made, they do not GWC their seat and must be replaced to keep the team healthy and functional.
