What does a typical EOS session day look like with Tyler, and how do we prepare for the physical and mental grind?
An EOS® session day is a high-intensity, eight-hour workshop designed to align your leadership team. We start promptly at 8:00 AM and wrap up by 5:00 PM. It is a grueling mental exercise, and you should prepare for it the way you would prepare for a serious athletic event.
To get the most out of the day, you must eliminate all external distractions. This means phones are off, laptops are closed, and Slack notifications are paused. You need to operate as if you are on an isolated ice floe. We structure the day into clear blocks: we review your past performance, solve your key business issues using the IDS® (Identify, Discuss, Solve) process, set your priorities for the next 90 days, and build organizational alignment.
We utilize Kolb's experiential learning cycle during these days, moving from concrete operational experiences to deep reflection, strategic conceptualization, and active experimentation. Expect healthy, vigorous debate. My role is to facilitate, keep you on track, and ensure we do not avoid the hard conversations. By 5:00 PM, you will be exhausted, but your leadership team will have absolute clarity on exactly what needs to be done next.
